Lecture: Professing in the Age of Enlightenment, by Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray

Summerby-Murray.jpg

In this presentation, Dr. Summerby-Murray asks us to consider the broader context for our work as professors, arguing that we have a responsibility to contribute to a scholarly enterprise that has its roots in enlightenment thinking. He argues that this responsibility includes defending and advancing the enlightenment project itself, especially in the present era when many fundamental tenets of the scholarly environment have come under attack from anti-intellectualism, nativist populism and a host of other protectionist agendas.

All faculty, staff and students are welcome.
