This panel discussion will feature Dr. Ben Connolly BSc’07, owner of Cornerstone Naturopathic Clinic, and Lindsay MacPhee DipEng’04, owner of The Floatation Centre. Learn about living a holistic healthy lifestyle and hear some of the challenges and rewards of running a health inspired business.

Get to know an important part of our history at the first Atlantic screening of the award-winning documentary “Soul on Ice”, presents and retells the virtually unknown contributions of black athletes in ice hockey. Following the screening there will be a panel discussion from SMU’s first all Black hockey lineup.

One World Alumni Awards Gala

Don’t miss our award-winning Homecoming event! Celebrate local charities and the SMU alumni and students that support them at this year’s One World Alumni Awards Gala presented by TD Insurance. Ronald McDonald House and Phoenix Youth are in the running for the One World Charity Award, and SMU’s Conflict Resolution Society and Model UN group are in the running for the One World Student Award. Find out who will receive the $7,500 prize to support their charitable mission. 

The annual Alumni Awards will be given for Distinguished Community Service, Alumni Volunteer of the Year, Young Alumni of the Year, and Associate Alumni of the Year, help us celebrate these fantastic Santamarians.

Saint Mary’s University professor and author Todd Leader will discuss his book "It's Not About Us; The Secret to Transforming the Mental Health and Addiction System in Canada".

Todd and his leadership team transformed the mental health and addiction system in the South Shore of Nova Scotia, bringing adult wait times from 8 months to one month, with no new money, and giving adolescents same-day to same-week access. Learn about this approach and take the opportunity to ask questions.

Following the game all SMU Women’s Soccer Alumni are invited to the Courtside Lounge to enjoy food, refreshments and great company while cheering on the men’s soccer team as they take on St. FX at 3:15 pm. We will also be giving away some retro SMU Women’s Soccer uniforms – hope to see you there!
