2020 marks 35 years since the opening of the Fred Smithers Centre of Support for Students with Disabilities (originally named the Atlantic Centre). To celebrate this milestone, we are hosting a webinar focusing on accessibility not only at Saint Mary's, but within the community at large. How has COVID-19 affected those who need accessibility accommodations and what does it mean for a space, event, or institution to truly be accessible?
Joining us for this webinar will be Dr. Linda Campbell (Director, School of Environment, Professor & Senior Research Fellow, Department of Environmental Science), Dr. Sailaja Krishnamurti (Professor in the Department of Religious Studies and co-chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Accessibility in the Academic Environment), Jennifer Green (Manager of Student Accessibility at the Fred Smithers Centre of Support for Students with Disabilities), and Baden Mercer (SMU student).
This event will be moderated by Dr. Lori Francis, Acting Dean of Science.
Please note that closed captioning and ASL interpretation will be available during this webinar. If you need other accommodations, please let us know in the registration form.
The webinar is free to attend.
Please note that a link to the webinar will be provided the day before the event.
